Homelessness in the Capital Region

Homelessness affects all populations within our communities; singles; families, both single-parent and two-parent; veterans; the elderly; victims of domestic violence and people whose homelessness is related to a disability and those who are victims of the poor economy and rising costs of housing and home energy. In the past year, homeless housing and service providers in Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Saratoga Counties have served more than 13,768 unique households, including 3,306 families with 7,105 children.
