Technical Assistance
CARES provides technical assistance and consulting services to state and local governments, not-for-profit agencies, and funders in the areas of planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of housing and supportive service programs for homeless individuals, families, and those with disabilities.
Services Include:
- HMIS CARES is the system administrator and training entity for the 12 county Homeless Management Information System for HUD,
- Assisting homeless service providers in applying for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care funds,
- Managing partnerships with community stakeholders in the development and implementation of Ten Year Plans to End Homelessness,
- Providing program monitoring for homeless housing programs administered by New York State,
- Providing technical assistance in the area of housing and supportive services for homeless and disabled persons; and
- Providing grant writing services for non-profit agencies to public and private funding sources.
